Social Skills Groups
Specially trained speech language pathologists and occupational therapists provide group sessions that focus on teaching children with special needs a variety of social skills to help improve their ability to make and keep friends, develop more self-confidence, and behave more appropriately.
Social skills lessons, role playing, and natural interactions with peers provide opportunities for kids to learn and practice skills in a fun and non-threatening environment. Skills targeted include trading and sharing toys, using appropriate personal space and body language, taking turns, understanding other perspectives, and developing conversation skills.
Our social skills groups meet once per week for 10 months during the school year. If you are interested in learning more, please contact our intake team at 253.854.5660.
